New Player!

Post by Tormunda »

Hi folks,
I played Eastern Front when it first came out, all those long years ago :) And to my surprise I seen this website during some random google search and a download and hardcopy purchase quickly followed.

So i'm back enjoying Eastern Front, a DLC of the northern campaign. A dozen fights in and still at 100% strength for my panzer core units. However, it's now the winter of 41 and Leningrad seems within throwing distance and i'm sending letters to the german high command to give me something with more armour and firepower :)

I've had no upgrades of any kind as yet. And although I know the T-34 is probably the best medium tank in the 2nd world war the damn ruskies are hitting me with waves of 60-100 T-34 tanks each battle. (12-20 units)

My current tactic is to swarm them with infantry to take away the saved fire points then get in close with my little PII's and PIV's to hope something finds its way through their rear armour.

The reason I am posting?
Can someone let me know what date I can expect an upgrade that can ease the pain? :) What about AA88 guns? I'm not asking for Tiger 2's, just something that may punch a hole in the T-34 at medium range.

I'm loseing my best tank commanders out here in the snow and all that the motherland sends me is more PII's.... :)

I believe in 42, you'll get the long Barreled Pz IV... think it's the Pz IV F2 (F1 is the usual short barreld 75 mm)... the F2 should be able to take out T-34's.... later that same year, you should see the Tiger I! [:D]

Thank you Jason,
I have already done the upgrade.... however....
It reminds me to ask the obvious: Why isn't the download already the upgraded version?

It was a bit strange to download the game only to find it was v1.01 and then to wait again for the 1.04 to download.
Would it not be better for new customers to offer them a patched download?

Anyway [:)] Wonderful game. Enjoying myself far too much and putting off all that D.I.Y the wife had planned. So now I have to buy her something to keep her happy!!

Good question, the lastest version should be already included with the download.

Hopefully Matrix will remedy that.

Hopefully Matrix will remedy that.
In all the years I've been downloading Matrix Games - often some time after patches were released - AFAIK it's never been the latest patched version but the original released version one gets.
