Faber, I've heard the devs say (several times) that no restart will be required for patch 2.
Thanks Mike..............I'll make a start tonight......if I can agree the final settings with Steven.....we've already agreed no HRs to start.....but as always we will be adaptable as the game continues......

wdolson posted this today in a thread in the main AE forum:
I believe the monsoon weather changes will require a start with Patch 2.

This is the first I've seen of this so I thought I would give you a heads up in light of your thought about getting a head start.

Thanks witpqs. I would say for me that kind of settles in - as in we should probably wait for the patch. Faber what do you think? If you think so I hope you haven't started the first turn yet? [;)]

I was thinking on HR's yesterday. Maybe we should something on artillery....just looking at the threads on massed artillery.......

As a final addition to my comments yesterday I want to thank Faber for his opposition in this scenario. As I say, for me, it's been my favourite scenario played to date. A right ding dong from start to finish. Faber used his CV's well IMO and I say above could have taken MB over a week period at it's weakest. Onwards to the GC[8D]

Hi Steven....yes let's wait for the patch.....I was going to settle down to a turn 1 this week....as i'm off work......but I'll just take some notes....and try to get my head around the game a bit more......

Happy to discuss any Arty Stacking rule that folks might think workable........

And yes....after reading your side of the battle...... I really am kicking myself for not attacking MB sooner.......as far a dmage to my carriers......Sho would be back in 90 days as would Junyo.....Hiyo in a year.....and Zui is listed as back by '46![X(]

Hmm interesting. So roughly what SYS/FLT/ENG damage did the CV's have? They all seemed to be hit with at least 2 1000lbers.

I think Junyo was hit by 500lbs from B-17s......she had 16sys but 12 Major float...so she was sent home....

Zui was hit by 2x1000lbs....maybe more....left Truk for HIs with 78 sys 28flt(14 major) all fires put out.....

Sho was hit by 2x 1000lbs........48 sys.......4 flt(all major)

Hiyo.....I can't remember what hit her.....but probably a couple of 1000's......64 sys 10 flt(all major)......

Steven as far as the GC...how does this sound

Scenario 1
FOW - on
AWE - on
ADC - on
PDU - on
HFT - off
D. 7s - on
RUST - off
REAL RND - off
NUW - off

Fixed reinforcements
Turn cycle - 1

HRs something about Arty.....and only one port attack on turn one.....also must pay PPs to move Kwatung troops anywhere.......

Thoughts?

Interesting D. Thanks. My CV boys were certainly very poor at bombing![;)]

As for settings. That seems good to me.

HR -definitely I would say on the movement of Kwantung units. Likewise I won't move Chinese units into Burma/India unless I've transferred them into the right command.

From reading other posts i'm concerned about the effects of artilley across the board. Of course the first problem area it may be used in is in China. Whereby if massed it will literally just blow the Chinese away. I am tempted to sya no movement of Kwantung artillery out of Kwantung zone full stop?

Agreed on the 1 port attack rule.

Anything else your end?
