Counter Symbols

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Counter Symbols

Post by Capt Cliff »

I see the standard NATO symbology being used in screenie's. Is there another selection? I really liked the way counters were printed in "Streets of Stalingrad", with the special German notation. Sure would add flavor to the game. Sauerkaurt and knockwerst ... [:D]

You would be able to edit the art and have your own counters.

The art is fully modable. I plan to do an extra set with "silhouettes" for the release.

This sounds good - maybe Divisional insignias etc can be added?

Had the streets of Stgd once , German symbols are pretty good, Nato ones are clearer

Sauerkraut und Bratwurst

they not the same thing

Bratwurst, or Brats as they are usually, called are a mixture of pork and veal with light spices indicative of the region of Europe from which they hail ... Germany. Though many brats are made from just pork and beef, many true Germans would say that only real brats are made with veal. Bratwurst has a very light color and flavor, which come from the grain-fed pork. In America, brats are usually slow cooked over a low fire and then stuffed into hoagie rolls or buns and topped with sauteed onions and a line of mustard.

Knackwurst, often spelled knockwurst is a soft sausage made of pork and beef spiced with garlic. It is often seasoned. It is often compared to ( and confused with) bockwurst which is very similar to modern frankfurters. Since bockwurst is more heavily seasoned and made with veal, knackwurst usually gets the most comparison to American Hot Dogs. The color is light and the texture is soft. Knackwursts are commonly eaten with bread and saurkraut or cabbage.

Knackwurst: We say Wiener Würstchen here in southern Germany.
