Transfer Ships to/from TF

I am having a problem with the Transfer Ships to/from TF menu. I can transfer ships into an existing TF, but I can not transfer ships out of an existing TF. After I create a TF (in port, both with and without ships with op points used, all types of TFs) and select "Done", then select "Transfer Ships to/from TF" all the ship names that are currently in the TF are listed in white. When I click on one of the existing ships, I get a black box with the message "Ship name has not been transferred." I can transfer ships into the TF (the new ships names are listed in yellow) , and then transfer those same ships out, but there is no way I can transfer the existing ships out. The only way I have found to transfer existing ships out of a TF is to disband the TF and then start over. This is very annoying. Is there something I am doing wrong or is this a bug?

If I want to transfer ships OUT of a TF, I form a new TF from the current TF screen, then transfer the ships I want OUT of the original TF into the new TF.

I agree that the "transfer ships to/from TF" note is misleading, since you can only transfer ships into, not out of, the TF.

Click on the TF/port name on the right hand column (in the upper half of screen). This will switch you to that TF or port and then you can transfer ships from the TF you were formerly in.

Thanks for the help. It is kind of counter-intuitive but it works just fine once somebody explains it to you.
