At this point I'm more concerned about having the existing events work in PBEM games.

Our two Uxbridge groups are having massive problems with this issue right now. It's making the game damn near unplayable for PBEM.

I agree, my current pbem game is pretty much at a standstill because of event issues.  Not JUST the massive delays that can be caused by having to add many emails to handle events but its just plain causing errors.  Currently we ended turn with the Maginot Activation event for France, the one that unfreezes forces on the Maginot line.  Well no matter what the French player does with the event it goes through and starts the German player turn without an opportunity for the French player to save the game and send him the file.  So we are pretty well borked.. we are hoping we can just send the file to the German player and let him play through it by making the decision as if he were France then play Germany/Slovakia and then get it back on track.

At the moment I have to say this game is broken for pbem.  I like it against the computer, and I assume hotseat would be fine.. pbem is as screwed up as Hogan's goat.  And man if you've ever seen his goat.. you know what I mean!

I second the motion, I am also involved in a Multi-Player PBEM that is stalled due to a problem reconciling the events.

Thank you.

We are aware that the massive amount of events might bring some issues in PBEM games. What we are planning, is to make completely redesigned campaign for PBEM. It's hard to say when it will be released but I think it might be 1.75 patch or even stand alone download, you should expect it in Q1 2010.

micheljq, all you have mentioned is already on my todo list.

How about labelling the Events for the country it pertains to? I don't know how many times i've read thru an Event and wondered just who it was referring to.

Put a name and a flag on it or something!
Assume nothing.

OK, with that settled I feel you need more events dealing with the consequences of major powers picking off minor countries.

For Example: Germany invading the Baltic States / Italy invading Yugoslavia before it joins the Axis.

You could add any number of rare or unusual "WHAT IF" events that trigger infrequently such as :

The USA entering the war before Pearl Harbor, in response to the war in europe or give the USA a few chances to purchase Diplomatic Points.

France breaking the Alliance and negotiating peace with Germany before they are invaded.

The USSR deciding to ally with Poland and sending in troops.

More aggressive actions taken by Spain and or Turkey.

Then you definitely need events dealing with the "Cold War" that occurs once The Axis is defeated.

Thank you for asking our opinion Anraz appreciate your concern for us, one event you might consider is that when you send the Dak to North Africa, never send it alone it is too easily defeated, send it with other good units, the reason being to me anyway is that North Africa just might be the most important region for the Allies [human[ because from there you can invade Greece, Italy and many more countries, and I believe it should be a major battleground for the Axis AI to hold. Another event I would like to see is that on December the 7th 1941 the [Human] US is attacked and goes to war the next day, no random event please it messes up the time line, I realize that to get the US into the war mode the human Germany can declare war on it Dec. 7th, unless there is a way for the human allies USA to declare war on Germany in December then I think it should be mandatory.

...give the USA a few chances to purchase Diplomatic Points....

I know it's not an event as such, but I like the idea of all faction leaders being able to PURCHASE DPs. That is, to divert resources at a national level into diplomatic initiatives.

I'd like to support bo's suggestion that the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour should be mandatory. I'll listen attentitively to anybody's argument for reasons for the Japanese Empire NOT to attack the USA but I do think it's inevitable.

The question thereafter is whether the USA joins the Western Allies or fights a Pacific War against Japan alone.
That's very open to events, possibly cascading from earlier conditions - how soon France falls, whether Vichy is established, other Axis invasions of minor countries, Russian Winter War decisions - all would have their place in deciding for or against US European entry events.
For every action, there is an equal and opposite malfunction

Some possible ideas:

1. How about a new event for increased allied bombing effectiveness on Germany, similiar to when the unrestricted submarine warfare event fires, directly removing PPs from the production pool if a city is hit. Strategic bombing is not very cost effective right now.

2. How about new partisan units that are weak and do not require supply, in the historically heavy partisan warfare ares such as Yugoslavia and the supply lines into occupied Russia. This could require the Axis to garrison the rear areas with security forces and weaken the Axis as they conquer more territory.

The game needs to address weakening the Axis economic power in the middle to latter stages of the war. This is a great game.
