Game Music (Newbie Q)

I'm not sure if this has been answered yet--I couldn't find an answer in the archives, nor the manual (though I may have overlooked something).

I enjoy the game music, but it seems to end rather prematurely. Id est, it doesn't even last a full turn. (I don't mean the sounds, they work just fine.) Is the music just very faint and the sound FX overcoming it? Is there an option I'm not seeing? Does it end when you Alt+Tab out of the game, or when sound FX come in? Or is there some other answer?

Under preferences you can turn SPWAW music on/off along with weather&battle sound effects, also units sound effects and terrain sound effects. But there are no options to change volumes for these features. I hope this answered your question.

Ahhh, the music was working just fine. I didn't realize that frikking ubiquitous "knock-knock-knock" sound was part of a track. Not my cup of tea, I'll look into the thread on other music. Thanks!

ooh that "knock-knock-knock" does everything for the atmosphere! Sounds like distant gunfire - a reminder that there's action outside the boundaries of the game map

Yeah, but there are too many of it in the playlist, IMO. I'd rather have had those battle noises inserted in the BG of a march. Like Robin's Minstrels!!
