How many?

Post by AirGriff »

Does anybody know how many Betty and Nell squadrons actually used torpedoes in combat? I read it once, and the number was surprisingly low if memory serves.

Just made the mistake of looking at the Wikipedia page for the G3M. Unfortunately, some Chinese person got there first.

Never thought about this before, so I had a quick read;

OK... apart from the famous instances of the POW/Repulse and Guadalcanal strikes, you could probably come up with less that 10X other strikes.

But it has to be remembered that this is War; so how many times did Netty's fly patrol/strikes without finding any action.

I run a wiki and a number of blogs. You sometimes really want access to that DoD system that allows you to backtrace attacks and send the xkill command.
