Pbem game

Post by bo »

For the first time I am trying to play a pbem game with another member here and somethings wrong or I am doing something wrong[more like me doing wrong]. A game was sent to me called fall gelb, I downloaded it to my Tow pbem file, when I start the game I click on pbem and fall gelb shows up there, I click ok and it goes to the next screen that shows all the countries involved that were set up by my playing opponet, no problem up to there but when I click ok to go to the game screen it goes black and then to the desk top HELP! There are no explanations no warnings nothing. I am also crashing a lot in the regular game no rhyme or reason for this, I checked direct x and its up to date I have the latest video driver from nvidia, in the pbem game could there be some kind of security blockage. HELP!

1. What is the last line in consoleout.txt after crash when loading PBEM saved game?

2. Regular crashes are probably caused by other application. Did you tried to close all of them (unnecessary ones) and then run ToW?

Create new empty text file in ToWs data\pbem folder, then rename it to "repo.dat". Remember that you may have enabled "Hide extensions for known file types" option, so txt entension may not be visible so you will create repo.dat.txt file which is wrong... You should show all extensions (how-to for XP: http://www.fileinfo.com/help/windows-sh ... sions.html).

Bleck honestly I am not good at this stuff ext's etc. I expect a game to work when I buy it period not all this stuff I have to contend with, Does no one have any problems with PBEM or just me, should I reload this game from scratch or not, also in the other post why cant I see the German units when they attack me in june 1941 I only see them when its my turn to attack them, I am human Russian in the 39 campaign game, in the Barbarossa scn. 1941 I have no trouble no matter which side I play.

File data\pbem\repo.dat should be there and I'm sure it was right after installation.
Unzip attached file to data\pbem and give it a try.

OK, last line only says "error opening file! (does not exist?)", line or two before that there should be more info.

One file? ZIP or RAR archive maybe? You should have whole folder (with many files in it, just like normal save) in data\pbem, not just one archive file.

That the game couldn't open (or find and open) file data\pbem\barbarossa pbem\misc.csv during loading your save. This file is necessary to load game, so game crashes.
