Newbie Question - Target List

Post by Wudan »

Start a new allied bombing campaign.
Go to first planning screen - select Bombing Mission.
Click Target List - click Category Of Target - eg. Ballbearing Plant.
List of ballbearing targets shows up - select one & route is shown.
Exit screen - back to planning screen & selected target is not there.

Is this how it is? Shouldn't the selected target be forwarded to planning map.

Also, once in planning map the Database is not available?

Thanks

Your method does not select a target. What you call the route, is just a distance from nearest airfield line.
This method does center the target. Which is then selected from the Set Primary Target display. This is one of the methods I use for manually selecting recon targets.

But, it is an interesting UI concept.

I'll bet the answer will be... "there is only so much that can be squeezed in"

Thanks

Even when the target is centered there is usually many many other targets on screen so looking for the specific one is still a chore - maybe this is something they could put in a patch.

I will keep on going with this game for awhile. The idea behind the game is terrific.

Thanks for the reply.

I have another question which I will post as new message.

if your plotting, you can also pick the target from the target list (at the end of the line, it says target, click that and the way points are plotted to it ?)

I might point out for people new to the game that the array of targets is overwhelming.

But, after not too very long you learn the good ones without reference to a list.

As a suggestion/hint, it never hurts to target the RR yard at Hamm. It is huge and must be hit over and over. Good place to target with Secondary if you have anything flying past there on the way home. Don't underestimate the value of pounding the RR yards since they affect the output of neighboring industries.
