Windows 7 - 64

Post by Abnormalmind »

I've experienced some quirky behavior.

1) Occasionally, the game stops responding during movement. This generally occurs when I move a stack (armies or navies) that is destined to somewhere not in the current map extent. This game will catch up and the units suddenly appear at the final destination.

2) Large multi-unit combat sometimes causes the screen to go white or black and then nothing. After a while, the map re-appears, but the combat was resolved and I do not receive the combat resolution window.

3) On odd occasions, the game will not let me select a unit. To fix this, I minimize and maximize the window. The game will then allow me to select a unit.

4) Once in a while the combat resolution window simply does not appear. However, I can run my trackball across the screen and see some text from the combat resolution window. After selecting something, the window appears as normal.

This is being played on a Dell Latitude D620, Windows 7 - 64, 2 GB ram, a regular hard drive, DirectX 11, Intel Core 2 T7200 2GHz cpu. The laptop uses a built-in Intel 945 for video and generic audio. The Dell drivers are up to date.

I recently changed the executable to run in XP SP3 mode and administrator level privilege. Too soon to tell.

Thanks!

Making the game run in XP compatibility mode has resolved all the issues.
