Aircraft groups splitting into subunits

Version 1.00.94b Beta

Gameplay Change: Units with a/c MAX strength six or greater now able to split into three subunits.

Before the Beta I was able to breakdown my Recon Units into subunits but do not have that option any more.
Does the above quote mean it was taken away or is there something not working correctly in the Beta.

I can't either. Did they remove the divide function in the new patch? If so, why?

Check the OOB of the unit; is there fragment somewhere?

If so, that would be the reason you can't divide it.

No, there are no fragments.

I checked in the editor and all the groups are set to have the ability to subdivide into three subunits. However there is no button like there was before the patch to do this or I am completely overlooking it.

Thanks for the others for noticing this as well. I was starting to think I was the only one to take the great advantage of this for my recon units.

The "Divide Unit" button is gone. Therefore, you can't divide units anymore. This is at least true for air units. I'll reopen the game and check if the button is also missing from LCU's.

What advantage does this allow for recon units. To me, it seems like a serious disadvantage. Now you can no longer divide recon units up and thereby recon multiple targets. Now, its just one unit, one target. Result = fewer recon flights per turn.

I mean before the patch one could do this. After the patch, you are correct we are now at a big disadvantage.

I find it strange that this has not been mentioned by more people. All squadrons are supposed to have the ability to breakdown into three subgroups. This means you have the ability to send 2/3 of a fighternsquadron on sweep and send the other 1/3 as escort with the bombers. Your bomber squadron could send 1/3 on port attack with the other 2/3 on airfield attack.

It's there for the LCU's. It just seems to have gotten lost in the beta patch for air units only.
