Newbie Questions!

Post by Leeds »

1. Can I only Refit my HQ's during the Strategic Phase?

2. What phase do I or can I reload my artillery?

3. How do I Air Recce a hex - I try to L click on an enemy hex but I merely see a message restating how many air points I have.

4. When can I strategic move a unit?

5. Unit values are unclear....If I have a German with a 24 CV 9 Q(B) what does this mean?

Thanks

1. tm.asp?m=1528590&mpage=1&key=refit&#1528623

2. tm.asp?m=1526506&mpage=1&key=phase%2Cre ... y&#1526506

3. Couldn't find anything on this and it has been about a year since I've played this game but I do recall that air point do not equal recce points - air points are compared to the enemy and some resulting (possibly none) recce points result. perhaps you have none? Also, not every hex can be recce'd - must be in the front you've alloted some to. Also, isn't it "R" rather then "L"?

4. In the strategic phase. Again, can't recall exactly but may not work if adjacent.

5. 24 is the strength. 9 is the readiness (best). Q(B) means second line units. There is A thru E, A being the best (for that country). A German "A" is better then a Russian "A" - "A" is simply the best that country can produce.

So with Air Recce, I should just R click on enemy hex during the Activation phase?

Lastly, why is it when I order an entire stack to move some units dont move - artillery, cavalry?

Thanks

I wish I could answer your recce question factually, but I just can't remember. its a shame nobody else, people still playing the game, have done so. Site kind of died after last Christmas. If the game was still loaded, I'd simply figure it out as I played dozens of times.

Artillery and HQ can only move into an already occupied hex. Not sure about cavalry but if it is the opening set up, the stacks are over stacked so the whole thing can't move. Cavalry CAN move from a stack with an infantry unit to an empty, enemy controlled hex, however, without paying for activation. Also, terrain affects stacking. There is an FAQ file that one of the players here developed - that may answer a lot of your questions. The manual is, well lets say, lacking. I remember how frustrated I was the first couple of times but with a little experimentation (some times, a pure guess), I figured things out. Shouldn't be that way but I guess a hundred page manual is out of style.

EDIT: changed the search terms - this might help a little:

After you left click a white box "Air Reconnaissance #" will appear (where #= the number of air recce left), left click that white box and the recce info will appear.
