Italy and the AI

From the front lines in France and Russia to the deserts of North Africa and the airfields and convoys of Britain, the campaigns of World War II are yours to command in WW2: Time of Wrath! This turn-based grand strategy title, the highly improved and expanded sequel to WW2: Road to Victory, puts the player in charge of the political, economic and military decisions of one or more Axis or Allied nations, including minor nations.

Italy and the AI

Post by bo »

I am the allies[human] in feb. 1942 and I have invaded Italy 4 weeks ago blown through Sicily [1 italian unit on the whole Island] aproaching Rome with 5 armored divisions, where are the Italians, Oh I know there off fighting in Russia, the AI is not only weak GW it borders on terrible and stupid, the destruction of AH's 3rd Reich computer game was based on exactly the same thing, why would the programmers not keep the bulk of the Italian troops in Italy? If this is any way the Pacific game is going to be they can keep it, oh people will say how can you be so cruel to these poor programmers, I am very suprised that not one player has not noticed this or are we afraid to speak up about bad AI. I would appreciate if Wastelands got just a little more clever about the AI if they expect to sell their games to us dopes.

Hi Bo, I`m glad that time is passing and you still play our game...

It is natural that the more you play the more things to improve you are able to notice.  In this particular case we are one step before you as in the following patch (it will available very soon!) there are some scripts connected with fall of Italy which change a lot in this theatre (e.g. fall of Italy, liberating of Mussolini, also possible creation  of Salo Republic) so in effect the patch deals with described situation.

Considering “Storm over the Pacific” I hope you will play the game even longer so I will have a lot of such opportunities to confirm our (I mean the developers from WI)  support to the game ;)

They already sold it to us dopes! I can see it now, a lone American marine division conquers the Japanese home islands, while the Japs gaurd Bora Bora. The AI in this game is not only bad, it is practically non existent. Too those who defend this AI and say it is competent enough and reasonably challenging I have one question, did you drop out of school in the second grade?

Appreciate anything you can do Anraz to improve the Italian situation.

Its obivious Von you know nothing about the Pacific campaign in WW2, they the Japs will put 42 divisions on Wake not Bora Bora[where is Bora Bora?] so they can watch the Goonies birds take off and errrr land? I feel for those who defend the AI because like me they are always hopeful that someone somewhere [Poland Germany, England, maybe even Iran[&o]] will come up with an AI that actually thinks[>:] by then I will be long gone or in a nursing home. Not trying to be clever just using common sense.
