Japanese Aircraft prod primers

Post by jackyo123 »

Ive seen some good threads here about how to manage japanese production early turns, and some mention of which engines to build more of.

But I havent seen a detailed breakdown of which planes/engines should be cut/reduced - can anyone point to a thread or resource where this is listed? And if not, offer any tips? I see there are maybe 50 places producing planes/engines - which are worth keeping? which should be phased right out? what about engines?

thanks - trying to learn the japanese production system is daunting

Well, for starters, the Nakajima Kotobuki engine factory can be converted.  There are 254 in the pool and they are used only for the Nate.  Unless you plan on building more than 254 Nates (I don't recommend it, even with PDU off), that's available for conversion to something else.  Maybe Ha-35?

Increase that Kates factory in Hiroshima. It starts with 0/0.

My noob takes on Japanese production:

Nates blow chunks. Replace them ASAP. Do this with other IJA aircraft such as the Oscar C version (double or more production) and later craft. The Oscar takes the HA-35, so you'll need plenty of those to go around. Other posters have increased their HA-35 production to nearly 400/month and are STILL running short.

Look around for other threads here that recommend different airframe numbers and engine production modifications. There are at least a half dozen of them that are floating out there. Rather than retype everything in them, I'll just encourage you to find those for some good help.

However, be cautious about large changes in production. 1094b has increased the supply requirements for LCUs and the combination of any sort of China offensive and industry changes can quickly result in a drastic reduction of supply in the HI (assuming you move supply from the HI to China to support your offensive). One of the great changes in 1094b is the ability to incrementally increase produciton. So make your changes, but only increase a factory by one or two at a time while watching your supply levels (and remember that you have to have 10k+ supplies in a factory city in order to repair the factories)

A superior change this. Badly needed to the JAP player, particularly if PDU is off. Allows for factory rate increases much more realistic. Kudo's to the dev's on this one.
