FitE AAR going into '42 and beyond in german TOAW forum

Post by Telumar »

As there's always a lot of talk here in the Matrix TOAW forum about FitE and Derivates (Buzz Mod, Directive 21) i thought this could be of interest for some of you (probably only for those who are able to understand/at least read some german). There's a FitE AAR going on on this German TOAW forum: http://www.si-games.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=168

The german side: http://www.si-games.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17984
The soviet side: http://www.si-games.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17986

The game is now in the first quarter of '42 and it looks like both players are determined to go further. I find it very interesting as none(?) or at least only a handfull of the FitE games (those that are documented with an AAR) ever went that far.

Excellent! Well done!

Too bad my German is shoddy :-))
(I lived in Germany but was too small to remember language so well - they said that I dreamt on German lol).
I lived near Esslingen, but have been in many German cities somewhere even few months: Goeppingen, Munich, Stuttgart, Hannover, Reichenbach, Villingen-Schwenningen etc...

Yes, that is really cool! I have scanned just briefly German AAR side and it was really well done, with lot's of analisis and discussion. I think that German side will win, Leningrad is kaputt I think as Novaya Ladoga is captured (Leningrad loses supply point I think) and German are doing OK in other sectors...

Hehe, 1947 scenario would be great for AAR like this... the only thing about 1947 scenaris that is bad is too high initiative for Allied forces because Germans are on defensive there (didn't say that it is not fun).

Can't read German, but looked at the Soviet Players pictures. Thats the first AAR of a big eastern scenario where I have seen the soviet player actually attempt to defend with his initial front line, and it seems to have worked out quite nicely for him! Most people seem to do a massive retreat, which ends with the Germans in Moscow before December [8|]

Yarrr! We made it with Fulkerson: First quarter of 42. LOL. Larry's previous game went even to 1944? So i wouldn't say none of players have made it. LOL. Going beyond 1942 isn't really any achievement... Very common.

EDIT: Look any FITE-AAR on the After action reports section, how many games you see which end before year 42?

I think the russian player will need until late 42 to recover his losses.

[align=center]Image

green = infantry - hrs(right)
blue = tanks (left)
red = airplanes (left)

This chart indicates how many troops are ready to fight in the units. So no Pool equipment or other material is listet.

Example: Turn 90 there were almost 46.000 heavy rifle squads in use.
