RE: THE THREAD!!!
No worries, Grollub. I doubt anyone took offense at your humor any more so than the other (friendly) disparaging comments that are routine fodder for THE THREAD!!! It's like friends or brothers-if they weren't poking fun or kidding, something would be amiss.ORIGINAL: Grollub
Agreed. He's both nice and funny. I apologize (to the entire thread) if I seemed to step over the line. Should've used some smiley [;)]ORIGINAL: Terminus
I have no problem with the SLR'ing as such, but I don't want him to go away all the same.

So, I return to work on the 4th of January, with more hours and more pay. He literally told me that things were a mess in the department and needed to be put back on an even keel.
Two and a half months after I left, and THEY call ME![:D][:D][:D][:D]
Good news T. maybe they will not be Corporate dumbasses this time around.

<sigh> long evening. Sitting here preparing a presentation on the "battle within the war" between the US Air Forces and the North Vietnamese Air Defense forces that I'm to hold a lecture on tomorrow. Having serious difficulties getting it done so I can go to bed.
Good luck on your presentation. Sounds interesting.

RE: THE THREAD!!!
Later [:)]. I will be busy holding seminars on various topics during the entire day. Then I hold my lecture later in the afternoon, after which we finish off the day by having a dinner together with the students. I don't think I will have time to elaborate on Rolling Thunder until evening - that is, if I'm in the condition to talk about that after dinner plus "some" beers. [;)][:'(]ORIGINAL: Aces8

The course is an introduction on (joint) operations. We're using Vietnam as a case study as it's fairly well documented from both sides and a lot of lessons to be learned. This week is an introduction week. Next week the students will be split into two teams, one allied and one North Vietnamese. Both sides will "redo" the operational planning and then we'll wargame both sides against each other.ORIGINAL: Mynok

Sounds very interesting how are you gonna wargame it exactly?
A Vietnam wargame that has always interested me is this

But of course if I ever got it I'd never find anybody to play it or probably the time.
