Greetings, Just completed a PBEM game with Erik R. the following is the combat reports and thoughts/observations made during the game.


Objective is to land troops and supply on Guadalcanal to capture Lunga airfield. First impression is the carrier force is too small to achive a desive result. I think I can possibly set up one carrier versus carrier encounter. It does not matter what happens to my CV as long as I can cripple the enemy CV's so that they retire. The surface assets on hand are quite strong. More then enough subs. Transports are in short supply and I don't believe the barges at Truk can arrive in time to be used. I will rest all the LBA and move the fighters forward to Buka (where hopefully they will provide escorts for Rabaul strikes)

The main problem is finding the enemy CV and gaining the tactical advantage. The airfield on Lunga can hopefully be dealt with by bombardment TF once the enemy CV are gone. If the USN is able to maintain a carrier presence there is no hope for resupply except by fast transport,
