Generally, your true southerners freak out at the first snowflake, run to the grocery store to stock up on bread, milk, toilet paper and kitty litter. Once done there they stop off at the liquor store and then head for home. Thus, most of the people on the roads once there is substantial snowfall are either transplants from up north or "young bucks" out ratting around after drinking too many.... all in all, still a good reason to stay off the roads.
