Now, the truth is I told Von Martial to have Rutkins flogged regularly until his attitude improves, but Marc don't listen to his old pals like me anymore since he married royalty and became a princess. Now he spends all his free time riding side saddle on a polo pony at his estate in Berchtesgaden.

Now as soon as David Heath gets back from his vacation estate at Hyannis Port, you might take your problem up with him.

LMAO.

OK Doggie, now tell us; just how many times did you jump out of an airplane-and did you ever land on your head? Perhaps you were a fan of Bob Hope too?

Honestly, that is the funiest thing I have ever seen here. Oddly enough, it seems to fit this thread well.

I have 22 matrix games, and have only had 2 problems. One was an install problem, and the other was a delivery problem. Both were solved promptly by Eric. In my experiences Matrix is superb![;)]
Matrix prices.......well, that is another story.
Good luck resolving your issues.

If you are disatisfied with Matrix you must really have a problem with other game developers. I've had some issues but believe matrix is at the top of the heap when it comes to support for their games . Look no further than Uncommon Valor released in May of 2002 and last patched almost 5 years later, how many developers/publishers offer support that many years after release of a game? Get real.

1) Fid you try going to www.findmyorder.com and entering in the correct information? I have had games I bought 5 years ago without the extended D/L service still be there.

2) For your java problem, do you have another java version installed? check your path and check things like what JAVA_HOME might be set to.

Does seem kind of weird to have to pay for "extended download support" .. a lot of people on here complain about Steam and Direct 2 Drive.. yet on those sites.. you can always re download your games that you have purchased in the past, and not at an extra cost!

Personally, I just try to make sure i have a backup.. but would be nicer if the store you bought it from did the same, as that's the one plus about Download Purchases..

I always remove the 'extended download' option because I dislike to pay extra for this service. Afterwards I'm going to burn my games on re-writeable DVD's, always several on a single volume of course, and hope these won't get lost.[:'(]

For me it's not about the few bucks, but rather a psychological barrier and pure lazyness. Frankly, I would prefer if Matrix increases their prices from the outset and offer lifetime free downloads in return.

As a "Service Director", you obviously have learned very little about how to register a complaint without being a dick about it.

Lmao that was a good one Slick. [:D]

Many thanks all. Just for clarity: 1) I think the forums are great and are a strength! 2) I like Matrix games, otherwise I would not buy them, 3) I realise that developing for PCs is problematic given the varying specs, age, configs, chipsets etc., 4) I realise that, as with all service support models, I am only one of many support customers.

But I do find some issues frustrating...... and if my angst shows, please accept my apologies.

Throwing a tantrum is the best way to get someone to pay attention to you, huh?

Asking politely is for pussies. Even with his PM inbox chock full of complaints about me, Rutkins still finds time to work on Matrix stuff now and then. Maybe you should consider posting what ever issues you have on the appropriate forum where people who know about the problems with that particular game can assist you? Nah, you'd rather stay in touch with your inner child.[8|]

I'ma have to complain about this post...[:'(]

Matrix, like a chinese meal promises much but leaves you hungry (or is that angry!).

Gilles

Outrageous! Say what you like about Matrix [;)] , but I demand an immediate and unconditional apology for your outrageous, unprovoked and totally unjustifiable attack on the gastronomic wonder that is Chinese cuisine!

I have often heard that about chinese food - where you order a chinese dish for dinner and then for supper you go and get a korma!! [:D] I've found, however, that chinese food is quite filling - but like JD says, you can't beat a good Indian curry!!

Now, that's the Gilles we all suspected was inside just waiting to burst forth with sunshine and daisies! [:D]

Welcome to the forums, and I hope you get your problems sorted out soon.

P.S. A good Indian curry beats a ho-hum Chinese dish, anyday!

With regard to Commander in Europe Gold - I downloaded and installed the Slitherine version - it ran ie compared to the Matrix version which came up with a JVM error......?

To be fair, the game hung after about 4 turns - but maybe a pointer to the Matrix install process?

And yes I have posted the above on the relevant forum. Still no update from my official problem ticket.

This may deal with the version of the JAVA runtime environment installed on your computer. Since I don't know whether the game's install routine installs JRE or not, I'd try to either upgrade (to the most recent version) the JRE or downgrade to an older version (in case the game runs smoother with an older JRE, for whatever reason), or maybe try both (make sure you uninstall JRE each time, though).

Nefarious' post was a hoot. But this last post is just lame. [>:]
