As it has been mentioned already we are sending files to Matrix and since then have a very little input on what is happening.

Considering that Matrix has announced that most of the staff is off until January 4th, we can hardly expect any patches before that.

It's also plausible that they like to add the news of the patch in the sliding information text on top of the site pages. The first information to appear is the one people are most likely see when they enter the site, before moving on to the part that they were really searching for. Due to this, I believe that Matrix likes a certain delay between news, as to not make any of them the runner-up too early. In order to keep up the interest for this slide, it's also desirable to have an "even spread" between news. Matrix probably adhere to a loose release pattern, regardless of the date the patch was actually finnished.

Emotionally, we may like to think that us getting the patch is of the utmost universal importance, but, intellectually, we have to remember that the issue is nothing but a small component in a much bigger whole.

Waxing poetic, till it's shiny as new

Where is the patch?

When is it due?

Dear Bo,

Not being familiar with the word "horsemanuer", which sounds a bit like something to shoot horses with, after decrypting your sentence, I nevertheless came to the conclusion that you had some objection to my assessment on Matrix' agenda. Since the word was probably misspellt, did you say that I have the manners of a horse, or did you mean that what I wrote have some resemblance to things that can sometimes be observed falling from the rear end of said animal?

It was not long ago an elegant man from Sweden

Was riding his horse, just north of Eden

When he came upon a fellow who had no cents

So he reached in his pocket and offered him a few

Though he should have been thankful that there were such Gents

The Fellow refused his kindness and just past through

Neither I just felt that you for some reason you always seem to defend Wastelands or Matrix in the forums, I did say I normally like your posts I guess you missed that one huh![>:] If you remember we had some lost in cyber issues before with this company, and I was just wondering out loud where the freaken 1.7 was, thats all please dont go to war with me over it its no big deal as I seldom play this game anymore, but I heard that 1.7 helps the Russian AI and it sure needs that. And you are correct in the good old USA its manure, but I tried to be European and it failed[:-] but the real truth is I mispelled it sorry.

I don't know for sure, but I seem to remember that 1.7 would be released in December as a beta with the official patch due to be released sometime in the first quarter of 2010.

It is now day 4 of the 90 days that make up the first quarter of 2010.

Does this anwser your question Bo?

Agreed....but, better late than never ehh?

We will have to (sigh) accept the fact that WI will move on to new and other projects, with a slow decline of support for this game. I only hope that the WI team is dedicated to providing us with a reasonably workable mulitplayer capability.

Such is the natural progression.

Hopefully, by the time this happens there will be those among the faithful who have become skilled in the Art of modifying this game and they will take over, keeping us entertained with innovative new scenarios.

I am a firm believer that multiplayer is where the Grand Strategy will rear its magnificent head. Taking the AI to the woodshed for its monthly beating is fun, for awhile. I long for the nail biting days of "hurry up and wait" for that turn to see if my strategy paid off against a human opponent. There is nothing so satisfying as a whiny email from one who finally capitulates their game to a better strategy.

LOL
