Units auto-updating

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Units auto-updating

Post by tiger111 »

During my `41 campaign as RAF unit are upgrading themselves. I have production on player control. How do I stop them upgrading under computer control?

Thanks

P.s.Had Battle of Britain and BTR when they came out and applaud Hard Sarge`s and others efforts to develop them. Well done.

Similar problem, I was trying to set up a force structure of what I thought was best, and had units in place to attack the areas I wanted.

All of a sudden the AI decides to change MY aircraft types and change MY setup.

Just exactly what role am I supposed to be playing?

This needs fixing!!!!!

not that it would help much, but, if you change plane types yourself, you close the upgrade flag, and will then, leave the unit under manual control for upgrades

not sure if Harley could add a Opinon to turn on or turn off teh upgrade flag

(one hassle there is, there are a number of units, that end up being ungraded by the code, and not the data)

well, what role were the people in command ? and they didn't have any say in the matter either

(something like the P-51, after all the work on it, and how much it was needed, it was decided to be given to the IXth Airforce, the VIIIth ended up borrowing the 354th and 363rd, and trading the 358th (that was there and ready for action) for the 357th (which as not there yet))

so even the High Ranking Generals, didn't always get what they wanted or needed

So the work-around is to change the unit's equipment from one what wants to something else. Then change it back to what you really want to keep it from changing in the future.

odd way, but from what Harley has said before, that looks to be the way it works

But I am not playing the Air Force Commander role, having control over 4-5?? Air Forces and all of the RAF I am at a higher (non-historical) command level.

I should be able control my aircraft allocation and their basing to run my campaign, rather than have the AI do things that fit into its historical timeline.

If you want the AI to run your game, it should be optional, and you just tell the game to choose targets and let it run itself.

I mean, not trying to argue the point (and yes, if I could, I would also like to have a switch added, if Harley can do it, with out screwing up other things)

but what ever command area you really are at, there is still a higher position, that is telling you what to do

(oddly, for the AI, AI, I would like to see it take a more active role)

all, we can really do, is see what Harley can do, and I think he is busy on other stuff right now
