running really slow....

all of a sudden this is running really slow...reinstall and re-patch? I've recently run a iolo maintenance program and updated to norton 2010 (hoping to keep a 5 year old computer going for a bit yet...)

bonus question... what was the best way to deal with barges out of rabaul etc again? i've replayed the first part so many times without getting into the barge fest in a while...life.

I'm not a computer expert, but my experience is that Norton is a nightmare in general and death to the speed of your computer. It is also very difficult to remove once it's loaded.

P-39s are great barge killers.

Thanks and thanks, is as I suspected.  The 2010 norton is much more involved than I expected running updates and scans almost continuously.  Maybe over time it will resolve and be less intrusive as it scans everything...

Instead of Norton´s PC clog, try out Avira´s AntiVir. It´s quite good and doesn´t hamper your working speed too much, if at all... Using it on 5yr old Toshiba Satellite laptop with no troubles.
