To my opponents about the reload message

Post by larryfulkerson »

This is an open letter to my opponents Patrick and Dave because somebody else might have the same or simular problem and a solution might fit both or all of us.

This is a screenshot of the programs I have running 99.9899% of the time. A file explorer open to the saves directory, MSpaint, TOAW, and FireFox ( my web browser ). I use MSpaint to change screenshots to a file.

After I've been working for about an hour or two I hit the close button at the top right to close TOAW and the following panel opens up

And when I chose the file I want to save to the picture looks like this: It's a lot easier to just replace the existing file instead of transfering my hands to the keyboard to rename the pig. So when I come back to work on my moves again ( from my nap or whatever ) I just drag the filename from the file explorer to the TOAW icon on my desktop and it opens the file and I'm back in business at the same place I was when I left. The problem is that it's the same file name over and over and over and I'm guessing that one or both of you might be getting 'opponent reloaded 49 times' messages when you open my moves.

If this is true then I guess I'll start using different file names for each save instead of just replacing the existing file.

So I'm asking each of you guys if you're getting 'reloaded' messages.

Hi,

Yes, I am getting the reload messages, sometimes 1 through 4, but most often 1. I think nothing of it.

D'oh. Well, I guess I'll start renameing the files instead of using the same one over and over. And you think nothing of it? What a trooper. Thanks dude.

EDIT: Also, I thought you guys might be interested to know that I'm keeping all the pictures, all the turn files, all the AAR's and zip files, everything so if you want a copy of anything I got it. Here's the sizes of the directories:

Lol!

I'm fortunate to have two monitors (although they are different sizes).

Larry,
That actually shouldn't trigger the 'reload' mesage unless you're reloading the pbl file. I go by the internal scenario name, so renaming won't change the behavior any.
