I remember fighting Tex, we used to fight a lot, he liked the P-38, when 2 came out, he liked to be a rocket jokey, maybe one of the better ones, but, he needed his enemy to come right at him, I never did, I liked to dance, and once past the Merge, I had the edge

towards the end, he used to complain, why don't you just stand still, so I can hit you ! :)

but, even with all the fights and argueing and what not, I think we were "friends"

ORIGINAL: Hard Sarge

used to fly with the Damned alot (the Damned, were a bunch of FFA flyings, but you had to be in a Squadron to fly KNOTS, so they formed the Damned, so they could fly KNOTS, one on one, these were some of the best guys around (and gals)

I didn't know the damned had a squad on FA. I guess the FA damned could have been totally unaffiliated with the AW/CK/WB's damed ?

History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.

I can tell you that there was a large "Damned" squadron in Warbirds and Aces High. I didn't know them, but saw their squadron moniker when one of them shot me down. [;)]

well, it is a good squadron nick

but, from the start, these were a bunch of loners, they flew in what we called FFA, no nation, no team work, every one is on there own, but to join the KOTS contests, you had to be in a Squadron (it was Squadron based combat) so, they formed a louse knit squadron, most people didn't see them in the normal rooms

so, they don't really sound like a group that would of branched off into other games

(but, if they were outstanding pilots, it may of had some of them, who just got tired of FA)

(we were the guys, who flew under the tunnels, though the factories, held dogfights in the woods)

LOL, I remember setting some people up, asked if they wanted to do some trick flying, they all said sure, I told them to follow me, and took them to a factory, with a open door, now it took some skill to fly all the way though the factory, but, the trick was, on the other side of the factory, there was a large smoke stack, so, just as you left the factory, you had to do a very HARD bank and turn, or you went right into the smokestack, of course, I was the only one who knew this)

during one of the betas, we had a Island room, with a large Vocanic island, one part of the peak, was flat, a good pilot with a Rat, could just limped over that peak, and stall out, and drop down and land on the edge, of course, we took snaps shots of the plane sitting there, and then shots of what looked like it had just taken off (too short to take off, if you did land, you crashed if you tried to take off, but...) and then posted them in the forum

when that room came out, it was a riot flying by the island and seeing all of the planes on the hilltop, with everybody trying to land on it (if he could do it, I can do it !)

later in on of the betas, they took out being able to land (I was know for landing and rolling across the map to my airfield when crippled) other then on a runway

first day the new game was out, we "Captured" a room, but it was not shut down yet (the tanks had to take the last site) so, somebody asked, what do we do now, me, being me, said, well, during beta, it was fun trying to see if you could land on the bridge, everybody got excited, and wanted to try, so I told them were the "best" bridge was at, and then flew and landed on the closest runway, and watched all of the reports of these guys crashing, funny part was they didn't catch on, and kept taking off to try again, after I all, I said it could be done

the next day, we also took the room, and somebody asked what do we do now, so I said, hey, in beta it was fun trying to land on the bridge, one of the guys started yelling, hey, I was here yesterday, sent him a private message, shhhhh, and he was like, oh yea, hey guys, this is fun, lets see who can land on it first, while me and him sat on the runway

as sucker is born every minute :)

those were the good old days

oh, just in case, I wasn't lying, during beta it was fun to land on the bridges, but they took that out, I always told them, that during beta it was fun (not that you could do it now :)
