Fortifications ?

Post by Oddball_France »

Two questions today :

- what are the bonuses for each fortification level ?
lvl 1 => +xx%
lvl 2 => xyy%

- do the fortifications the units in "open field"(= no base to me) build work exactly the same way (same bonuses ?) ? In "open field" you can build fortif up to 3, exact ?

The whole thing is for me to know is it's better to defend, say, a "wood" hexe in "open field" with no fortif (or 1-2-3 fortif) or in a "clear" hexe with a base with 6 fortif. (just an example)

ty in advance

hum, i've found an answer from vanilla WitP

Fort(0) = 100% AV
Fort(1) = 125% AV
Fort(2) = 150% AV
Fort(3) = 175% AV
Fort(4) = 200 % AV
Fort(5) = 225 % AV
Fort(6) = 250 % AV
Fort(7) = 275 % AV
Fort(8) = 300 % AV
Fort(9) = 325 % AV

Is that still true ?

what about fortifications out of base hexes ?

I don't think anyone but the devs know the real numbers.

Its nto that simple there is a lot goes into it and the frumlas get nasty.
The rule of thumb I used to use in old WITP every fort level = x.333 AV isnt quite right anymore levels 1 - 3 are more valuable than that because of the new improved protection from air and arty andt he disruption they cause and 7 - 9 because of the huge investment required are better.

So its very situational now depending on opponent and terrain and your own force.

e.g. an unsupported Inf Bn fighting against a Bn plus an Arty Bn will get more value out of low level forts because of the arty protection than a Inf Bn v Inf Bn straight fight.

I guess what I am saying is its not that easy to predict anymore
