JamesM,

Point 4 of the installation guide should be looked at.
http://sites.google.com/site/witptracker/installation

This is not a Java problem, but a MS thing ...

Thank you for the advice but I cannot get it to work.
Try this James ..

Error Msg:
1. Can't load IA 32-bit .dll on a AMD 64-bit platform
Vista 64 and Intel / AMD
-Uninstall C++ libraries 95 and 98
-Uninstall Java 64 and 32
-Reinstall the Java 32bit JRE
-Reinstall the 32 bit C++ patch

(I'm not sure if you can then install Java 64bit JRE and configure it to work as well)

Windows 7 and AMD
No solution found or confirmed(although I'll get Ziggurat to test this )

There is a Portland USA and a Portland Aus.

Yep, Portland Aus is correct. It's Portland US that is the problem. I suspect the two are somehow linked.

Trackerbuster CONFIRMED ... I'll look at the code to see what's happening. It's right in the BASE Screen, just something is very wrong after that .... report back later[;)]

--Damian--

[Edit] Yeah I think I've found it in the Production Panel where I was looking for Base by name ... I'll fix that.

Thank you that worked. I had about 8 versions of C++ installed.

However, when the latest security update for C++ is installed it will not load.

Is it possible that tracker doesn´t track all ships? For example, I´ve got 8 BBs at Pearl Harbour at the moment, all in damaged state but only 6 of them show up under the ship repair tab. And some subs don´t show up with their name but only as a number.

Known issues? Sorry, didn´t go through the previous 29 pages of this thread.

If they're damaged, they should show up (and with their full name). Can you send me a save (witptracker@gmail.com) so I can take a look?

Thanks!
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

WitPTracker AE Release 1.4 Available

Post by floydg »

More fixes and improvements! Release 1.4 is now available.

New Features:
[*]Torpedo rating added to Ships panel. This is the number of torpedoes which can be launched in a single salvo.
[*]Base panel shows garrison requirement (if any) and Assault Strength at the (friendly) base. A filter was also added to show just bases with a garison requirement. Note that the Assault Strength is not perfectly accurate, but is very close.
[*]Manual read of sig int text files. A new menu item was added to the Turn menu which will allow a text file to be selected. When selected, the file will be checked to ensure it's for a turn that has been loaded (file contents are for the previous day). You can also re-read the information for a turn (wipe out the current, read in new; just in case the program read in the wrong file).
[*]New filter added to Device panel to hide devices with an available date of "99/99".
[*]Dataset menu re-ordered to make more logical sense.

Bugs Fixed:
[*]Reading the sig int text file for a turn on January 1st cause the program to crash.
[*]Search arcs and flag icons for the Map panel now updated when a new turn is read in.
[*]Changing the scale on the Map panel now seems to be okay (scroll bars stay and scroll the right amount).
[*]Industry panel no longer confused by two bases with the same name.

Known Issues:
[*]Text files for 2- and 3-day games doesn't work.
[*]Nothing else new.

Note: database files (trackerdb files) for release 1.3 and 1.3.1 are compatible with this new release. When you start the program for the first time, you will see an "Upgrading WitPTracker AE database." message if you have a release earlier than 1.4 and then the program should start up normally.

The release also provides a new region-mapping file: Kull_Regions_v131a.txt. There is also an Excel file explaining how it's different from the Nomad files and the default.

The release can be retrieved here.

Enjoy!

Wow! Thanks!

I'm less than a dozen turns into a PBM - any advantage to loading up a new database, or just update in progress?

Since the database will automatically upgrade and you can manually read in the missing sig int files (if any), there is no reason to start over.

One of the cases where sorting doesn´t work.
Seems to sort only the first number.

Saw this already when i filtered for dates somewhere.

You realize that I didn't get to use v1.3 or v1.3.1. Only loaded them ..... Why didn't you guys start MS ....... ? Our systems would be sound and secure ....

How do you do that?

Turn menu, choose "Load text file". Then select the text file you want to load.

Not a big deal, but the Engine Planning under Air Production has the Availability date set up as mm/yy and it should be yy/mm.

Guys,

I am having issues with trying to get 1,4 tracker to run. I have followed the instructions as stated on the site and I get two problems:

For info I am running win 7 64bit on a Q6600 Rig.

Problem 1 - When installing the x86 version of Java I get: C:\Matrix Games\witp-tracker>java - Xms384m -Xmx512m -jar "WitPTracker.jar" 'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file

Problem 2 - When I install the 64bit version I get the following: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.unsatisfiedLinkError: C:\Matrix Games\witp-tracker\pwsdll.dll: Can't load IA 32-bit .dll on a AMD 64-bit platform.

posted on Tech thread too.

Any help welcome

2. Java is not recognized as an internal or external command
Java is either not installed, or there is a pathing problem.

Solution 1. Check you have Java JRE installed.
Solution 2. Move Tracker folder to the Desktop or c:\
Solution 3. Copy java.exe from your C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin to the WitpTracker folder (remember copy not move)
Solution 4. (The best but most difficult)
1. Right-Click My Computer and select Properties
2. Then Click The Advanced Tab
3. Then Click Environment Variables
4. Select Path In The Bottom Box and Click Edit
5. Find Where You installed Java (E.g "C:\Program Files\Java\bin)
Its different on each computer so check where it's installed
6. Make Sure to add a semicolon after the word bin in the path to seperate it from the other important paths
7. If this doesnt work then you may have to reinstall Java and Try Again
Source(s):
http://www.java.com/en/download/help/path.xml

Setting Path on Windows
For Windows XP: (additional notes)

1. Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Advanced
2. Click on Environment Variables, under System Variables, find PATH, and click on it.
3. In the Edit windows, modify PATH by adding the location of the class to the value for PATH. If you do not have the item PATH, you may select to add a new variable and add PATH as the name and the location of the class as the value.
4. Close the window.
5. Reopen Command prompt window, and run your java code.
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.
