EXE Crash on Airstrikes

Post by Juniorpop »

We been having alot of issues with the game crashing when an airstrike comes in.

Is this a known issue?

It was happening while we were using the score mod, so we started using the normal version. But it happens there as well.

My advise would be to avoid using them unless its your only hope to survive the battle. Its a game bug and you never know when it can crash a battle. When I look back at all the times Ive used an air strike (that worked, which is most of the time) I can't think of one time it changed the outcome of a battle. I can't say that about the replay battles after it caused a crash.

One other thing ive noticed, when it has crashed a battle the air strike was called in at or near the edge of the map. The plane enters and fires almost right off the bat and then the game freezes. FK and I have not noticed it happening so much when the target is more in the middle of the map.

Gz...

If the target for your airstrike, or artillery, is close to the map's edge is there not a danger of ordinance landing off map?

Back in the days of CC II I can remember single snipers in the very corner of the map holding up XXX Corps whose mortars were busy churning up the topography. Three-quarters of misses held no blast or splinter danger. Gamey, I know, but effective.
