RE: Disaster at Suva
I am now worried about Australia
Lets add it up
String hits Darwin in strength and then moves to isolate Australia in the northvia mini KB could be read as just an attempt at prepping for Java.
OK
But then he rushes KB from Darwin to Fiji and hits Fiji hard including sitting around for a second day in the face of 200+ allied LBA.
This feels like an isolate Australia play in which case he might be going for an al out attack on either Australia or NZ
Especially as it looks to me like he has used the bare minimum of force in Malaya to get where he is.
I have a worried feeling about Australia and NZ just now.
Going to look over my defences tomorrow to see how they are looking.

RE: Disaster at Suva
I had itwas overstacked about 150 on a lvl 2 - got what I deserved no complaints
RE: Disaster at Suva
95% to level 3 though so I was hoping it would have gotten there
RE: Disaster at Suva
String pulled back probably to re arm my AF has recovered and additional forces are en route
I have a reinforced Div on Suva plus lots of base forces and plenty supply so I suspect String wont be able to take it off me.
I have more units en route and after I get more B17's in there on LR Naval Search its unlikely he can hit me that hard again also get some PT Boats and DD Flotillas operational to protect the port.
Probably 1 TF of each

RE: Disaster at Suva
String is delaying before Singapore I dont think he has a lot of strength there I wonder if he had decided to just mask Singapore with minimum forces.
What else is happeneing - Mini KB is off of Java interdicting traffic.
KB is retiring from Suva may hit Sydney or Brisbane I have searchers out looking for them.
On Suva I have equivalnet to a US Inf Div and a NZ Bde so I should be ok to stop him - I hope.
NZ is vulnerable and I am slightly worried about Australia.
I will go over my Australian dispositions when I do my next turn it is safe to say I am watching Sigint very carefully at present.

So not by invasion. OK, he's a very good player.

Spotted mini KB coming intowards Perth - I have 75 P40's there but they have the pilots they arrived with so they are seriously shit despite over a month of 100% training.
Anyway I have over 150 aircraft at Perth but based on past experience I am not hopefull.

Doesn't this also free up a lot of his LCU?
For what we are about to receive, may we be truly thankful.

Mini KB dissappeared no idea where to my search planes are out looking
RE: Disaster at Suva
I am really struggling to find 50 ish xp pilots for my USAAF Sqns really slow to train up I think I am doing something wrong - decent pilots are like gold dust as sending 30xp pilots into a fight is just a waste of a plane.
Its a real struggle for me in my games
Mini KB has dissappeared again
I have Sqns just no decent pilots I am going to strip every 50+ XP pilot I have and move him to my USAAF Sqns in the front line but I have a LOT of 30xp pilots and my losses have not yet been that heavy in pilots.
I think I am doign somethign wrong

RE: Disaster at Suva
The one thing I havent mentioned so far anywhere is that I suspect both Sting and I had the same strategy do as little as possible in Malaya....
After day 4 I have been evaccing every man who can walk out of Malaya to java and then onwards to Perth
I got out pretty much the whole 11th Indian Div intact and about 40% of 9th Indian Div they are now in Perth plus both the Australian Bdes and a good selection of the support units
I dont think String realised what I was up to as he is still sitting on the other side of the malacca strait and its 4th Feb
he has 31 units there so the end is nigh
If 18th British Div hadnt been wrecked at Darwin I would be well up as it stands its probably about even...

RE: Disaster at Suva
Yup less than 30,000 men in Singapore now
When my attack comes out of Australia I will have
1st Aus Corps (6th 7th and 9th Aus Divs)
III Indian Corps (8th Aus Div (with both Bdes out essentially intact I can rebuild the Div easily), 18th Brit OR 9th Indian depending on whioch one I rebuild and 11th Indian Div)
plus a US Army Corps of 3 Divisions
So when the time comes I will have a fair bit of force supported by mostly Australian Armour I will form this force up deep in the South until its ready to attack
Getting the shipping and air support to assist in this attack will be the trick
Add to that in India I managed to get BurCorps out intact so India is in better shape than per history as well so my real worry is Ceylon or NZ

Don't defend what you can't hold... if he wants Ceylon or NZ let him, just don't loose good troops.
Until you have a div and lvl 4 forts no place is safe. 2 div and 5 forts though probably is,or at least (like in our case at Adak) will contain the enemy for a long while.
Cheers
