8/27/40

very busy turn for the Luftwaffe and Fighter Command.

a few highlights:
- Kevin is able to damage and kill a few A/C on the ground
- LW was not able to keep the radar down [:'(]
- LW was able to hit important A/Fs [:(] and to lower my ready A/C counter
- LW pinpoint raids seem to produce either nothing or a destroyed target [:(]

here a picture of the radar map in the morning

here are the daily losses........if Kevin did not fly twice or more often with his bombers per day his losses would be much lower!
He seems not always protect his bombers with multiple layers of escorts....and that is good for the British units......one or two squadrons distract the fighters and the rest goes after the bombers [:D]

but on the other hand he does a great job damaging and keeping my A/Fs out of order...

Here the situation of my primary A/Fs - not a nice sight! [X(]

I do have many more secondary A/Fs, but they depend on the primary A/Fs => if the primary A/F is damaged the secondary A/Fs suffer awith a higher delay time (communication) and some other factors.....

several enemy anti Radar strikes in the morning....two of them run into my patrols and get whacked [:D]
But Kevins strikes complete their missions....and once again Southeast England is without radar cover [:(]

In the afternoon several large raids against targets north and northeast of London....

After these raids went back over the coast and my units flew back to their patrol area and were able to find a few unescorted bombers from Luftflotte 5!

here are all of the enemy bomber missions........just look at the damage some of them had done..... [:(]

Kevin flew several night raids......I did not detect them before they dropped their bombs....but I got several bomber crashing reports (15+) - it seems that he flew all those night missions below 500ft with probably tired and exhausted crews!

and now the overview - you can see that the turn did hurt me......AS is up to 7!! I do not like this and I have not many undamaged or even useable sector airfields left [X(]

Swift,

I presume this is FOW and inflated RAf claimed kills - post 110- shows you claiming 200 German bombers and 16 fighters destroyed whilst the campaign summary in post 111 shows a total of 72 aircraft as Luftwaffe losses.

Can we assume that the attrition summary and subsequent list of types of aircraft destroyed are accurate figures and are not subject to distortion of the truth?

Yes, in the raid screen shot, FOW is showing, only your own losses are correct (on the other side, if Kev were to look, his losses would be correct, while the enemy losses would be FOW)

the summery page and losses page, show the correct numbers (some people don't like it, but since scoring is based on the losses, it needs to be shown that way)

I always think of the numbers in the after action report as pilots claiming to have attacked an enemy A/C.

it could be part of that also (odd to get those 233 losses when there are only 40 bombers, but it could be the number of attacks made)

I'd like to know how he knocked out all those radar site with so few bombers flying through light AAA and balloon cables.

Kevin knows what he is doing (most the time ;) )
He has found many flaws in BoB during the beta tests and because of him there are no more shortcuts to victory in BoB40 anymore [8D]

He has made extensive excel sheets with A/C / range / altitude / bombload / daytime / and whatever.
But now he also sees that gaming versus a human is different to single player vs AI [:D] (he is a formidable Luftwaffe player!!!)

He often copies real world Luftwaffe tactics - the LW did their kind of precision bombing with small units and often with single A/C.
HIs Stab units seem to be used for such precision strikes.......for me it seems to be a 20+% chance to put a target out of order.

once again a busy day with mainly daylight anti radar and airfield raids.
During the night Kevin tried to nail a few industrial targets.

here the raid list:
