Pilot Experience Color?

Often when you look at the pilots associated with a given air unit some of them will have one or more of their experience values displayed in color (orange, green, etc.). What does this mean?

Green means that pilot gained experience in that skill the previous turn and orange means he gained experience in that skill during that calendar month.
