A bit further to the south, the defense of Bryansk is the toughest I have encountered so far since I invaded. I see opportunities to bypass them though

My plan to take Narva succeeded

Less jolly are the Soviet counter attacks out of Staraya Russa. The road to Pskov is undefended as I 'm still struggling to eliminate a stubborn Soviet Mot Division west of that city

In the Ukraine I had freedom of movement... Being able to cross the lower Dniepr east of Kherson without significant opposition was a pleasant surprise
Seems I'll be able to seal off the Crimean as planned
Dniepropetrovsk and Zaporozhe promise to be a tough contest, and I like to get as far as Melitopol

Let's briefly mention actions on the Finnish front
Here everything seems to be going according to plan, with Viipuri and Petrozavodsk surrounded.

Starting turn 16 the front looks like this. Noteworthy is the lunge towards Moscow

Before taking a look at the main sector, some annoying news from a side show.
The Soviets are taking on the Finns with some bravado

In the Ukraine, Elmer carries out some nuiscance raids... A lone border guard unit is sent on a suicide mission... There's a continuous arrival of Soviet units being spotted on the east bank of the Dniepr

AG Mitte!!
This situation gives me an adrenaline rush.
Moscow is in sight and I don't think I'll ever get a better chance of taking it
The approaches north and south are being secured but I'm gonna have my infantry to perform forced marshes and exposure to paperthin flanks. I wanna conduct a credible assault before the Soviets pour in more units.

I like the picture(s) but those in motion....is there some way you can speed up the motion? It's kinda painful to watch when it's so slow. my $0.02

My last turn was very useful in disrupting Soviet production

The positions of advanced Wehrmacht units near Moscow at the start of turn 17
It seems that the Red Army didn't have much time to prepare impressive defenses

Where can I obtain a copy of this modded D21?

I followed the prior AAR between Desert and Larry each day (whew) and I would like to give the modded version a try.

Thanks,

Positions around Moscow on 19 August 1941
I've observed Soviet units streaming in.
That northern corridor is an extremely risky move.
I'm gonna abandon my plan for a Mozhaysk kessel.. I would waste valuable time if I did attempt that

As stated this is a personal mod due to the fact that D21 is a work in progress and I want to leave the honors to Steve and Rick.

I decided to go for it! Assault Moscow before the Soviets get the chance to move in more reinforcements
Here's a shot of the advance in progress before most of the combat has been set up

Exiting stuff. Not much of a defence left for your opponent, then again I notice a lot of red dots on your counters... and you still have these pesky pockets to clean up. I don't know, if he's able to send in reinforcements fast enough you're done for I fear.

I think you might stall in the suburbs yet, you could have use for one or two infantry corps more to take Moskau. Could you have four transferred inf divs up front in three turns?
