Creating First Turn Japanese TF

Post by John 3rd »

I am working to create some flexiblity within Japanese movement for the first turn. This has led me into the Editor. My desire is to create two more CV TF and several supply TF who gain the First Turn Movement Bonus so I can move supplies and a few units around the map.

Questions:
1. I figured out how to copy KB into an empty slot but could not move ships with it. How do I do this?

2. How do I create a NEW TF at a given port? I need to create TF at several locations such as Tokyo, Hiroshima, etc...

Here is a Screen Shot of how far I got (not very) with creating a second KB TF to move Hiryu/Soryu and couple of DD into:

Thanks for the help.

I'm at work now, but I think that you use the ship screen to do that. You have a place to select the start position, and that can be a TF.

You are part way there John. The TF menu just creates an empty shell. You have to fill the shell.

So go to the Ship screen and search for the name of the ship you want in the new TF. When you get there, make sure it is set to be in a TF, not a Base. When you do that, type in the number of your new TF - in the example, change Hiryu from TF 8001 to 8018 (your new KB-2 TF). Hey-presto. Same with Soryu and the DDs you want to include.

Additional stuff required to load troops, but I think this is enuf for now, yeah?

Hee-Hee! I've got the naval TF stuff figured out. Just created KB-2 and it actually--DARE I SAY--Worked! If I can do even this much with the Editor then it must be made for idiots!

Will try more later tonight.

I have just redeployed the Kaigun into a manner of use that I want for the opening of the war.

Sooooooo...NOW that I understand THAT portion of the Editor how about I move to convoys.

Questions:
1. How do I created new Transport TF in the Home Islands?
2. I know to click the 1st Turn Movement Bonus. That still works for them right?
3. How do I load troops onto the TF as JWE alludes to?

Thank you!
