OOB question - airplane graphic display

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

OOB question - airplane graphic display

Post by simovitch »

Working on the proportional aircraft graphic mod (update coming very soon) I have noticed that there are several airplane graphics that don't seem to be used in any of the scenarios. Also there are several graphic variations of a single model (like the P-47) that have never seen the light of day that perhaps could be used for the different fuel tank variants, etc.

Many games include an x,y flag in the OOB that calls a specific graphic from the main bitmap. Is this the case for ED-BTR and it's just being under-utilized? I'm willing to help bring some of these to the surface if it can be done.

some of it is, we have planes that, were intended for something else, so, more planes the are in the current game

also, some was planned for linked planes, but we kind of backed off on that, until later

the way I understand it, the sheet is broken down into numbers, I assign a number to the plane model, and that is what is used

so over all, other then with the links, not sure if we can use two of the art number for the same plane

(and for what it is worth, I really like that mod you did before)

Thanks [:)]
The update sharpens up a lot of stuff, especially the heavies, and cleans up some of the finer details like the smudgy props and radar elements. I was actually able to make the heavies slightly bigger, and with better color contrast. Stay tuned....
