Some questions about HQs

Post by hermanhum »

Wonder if anyone can help clarify a few questions on the employment of HQ land units.

If an Army Corps HQ is divided up and spread amongst a group of ships for an invasion, will they still exert their influence on the landing forces (assuming they are within their command radius)?

Does the HQ assigned for a base matter? For example, I am playing as the Japanese and there are bases in the DEI that are assigned to the "15th Army HQ". I cannot assign units to the 15th Army HQ, but I can re-assign the bases away from 15th Army HQ to another HQ. Are these 'base assignments' purely cosmetic/adminstrative in nature or is there relevance on unit performance? Will 8th Army units function more efficiently if they are placed on an 8th Army base? If so, how are they affected?

Thanks for any assistance provided.

In classic WITP, what you are describing is largely cosmetic. What really matters is having a subordinate unit and its HQ having the same specified target. Then the subordinate unit will gain combat bonuses if it is within the command range of the HQ, attacking the common target.
