A bug or supposed to be?

Post by davewolf »

Just started another '43 campaign PBEM game (WIR v3.2).

Two strange "events":

1) Changed some of the production the first turn (as expected). But the next turn the "delay" has not been counted down by one.

2) The casualties display shows weird data. There are millions of losses in most categories at "Since start" though almost nothing has happened yet.

Anybody ideas?

Hi Davwolf,

Interesting problems, and no idea of why. The only time I have seen the problem with casualties is changing from a game started with 3 to 3.1, or maybe it was 3.1 to 3.2. The other problem is even more odd. I have tried to cause problems with this stuff but no luck. Anything odd that you know of get done in the game?

I guess maybe if you could send both the scenario file OBZIT and the save game, that would be helpful. Also, if an encrypted PBEM game, the passwords for both sides would be needed. I will see if I can come up with anything, but otherwise maybe you guys should start again if it is the first couple of turns still.

At least nothing I know of. Also the game has been run with an v3.2 WIR exe from the first turn.

It's even worse. I just noticed that the bomber wings of one HQ (4. Panzerarmy) are still "u"-sed before I did do anything. Also the entrenchment for previously deployed corps' hasn't been increased.

Anyway thanks a lot for your help!

Hi
I've seen all these symptoms. My opponent and I was using different versions of WiR. I guess you have to doublecheck that you are both using the same release...

I'd like to see it that way, but unfortunately...

I use to do my turn, then before I make the comp. execute my orders I save the game to an alternative slot, then after execution I save it to the proper slot. (Without reloading between these steps, BTW. Just to avoid misunderstandings.) So I can have a look if there are new units to pop up or so the next turn when I reload the (alternatively saved) game after all that. (I'm an impatient one...) Of course this way usually the whole update routines run again too after reloading. But not in this case. I did it as described but the above mentioned problems were already there, even though at this point no opponents exe. was involved.

Since I didn't know if that's a serious problem I/we just tried to play though. Well, hope never dies...

Hello!

Some quantity of bugs exist in production design 1943 Scenario. For example:
1. Initially, factory in Stuttgart, Kassel, Berlin produce PzKpfw-IVg, but PzKpfw-IVh already can be produced and on first turn this factories are upgraded
2. Factory in Berlin - PzKpfw-IIIm - upgrade to Stug on first turn
3. Factory in Genoa - M13/40 - upgrade to M15/42 on first turn
4. Factory in Leipzig - Nashorn, but week of first turn = 106, time for arising Nashorn - 107
5. Factory in Munich - 1 Jagdpanther will be produce, but time for arising JagdPanther = 135 and factory use as research center

More over, two factories in Munich (Panther and Jagdpanther can't be changed. I think, reason: this factories must be aircraft (they placed in aircraft factory slots in scenario file)

6. Kassel, Me-410 (time = 125) - research, but can be changed
7 Gorki,Ural, SU-152 (time = 107)
8. Urals, Moskow - T-70, upgrade to Su-76 on first turn
9. Saratov, Yak-9T (time = 106)
10. Leningrad, La-7 (time = 152)
11. Two factories Ural - Tu-2 (time = 110)
