Setup Crash : game won't install.

Hi,

I just got the game (box with 2 cd). I can't install it, when I try to run the setup file ( Armada2526-SetupRelease-v101DRP.exe ), it immediatly crashes.

My config is rather old, but it should work :

Core2duo 6600
Nvidia 88100 gts
Ram : 2 Gb

Vista home 32 bits
DX 11
.net 3.5 sp1

OK, I tried on 2 other computers, it crashes the same way. On my htpc running vista home, and my office pc running xp pro sp3. Latest windows updates installed on the 3 computers.

As the disk seems not damaged - setup file can be copied without error - I guess there are other actions to perform before the installation ? But there's no manual with the game to explain how to install it.

Any clues to install this game ?

Well, I've peeked at every single topic having "crash" in it's title in the Arma 2656 tech support forum. But english isn't my primary language, I certainly missed something...

OK, I know I shouldn't be posting this, but still...

I've downloaded (shame on me) the game and it works perfectly. Anyway it should be "half legal" as I've bought the physical version of the game. I guess it's a cd problem. Either matrix doesn't check what they put on their discs (and this time they put a corrupted program), or the discs are plagued with DRMs preventing the setup to run on a certain proportion of PCs ( 3 tested - 3 failures for me ). Either way disappointing as I've payed extra dollar to have a physical version and I just got 2 useless CDs and no paper manual.

Am I the only idiot to have bought the physical version of the game and to experience these crashes ? In that case I may still hope to end up with a clean (and 100% legal) installation of the game.

I have exactly the same problem and contacted "UK customer service" without any convenient solution.

I'm quite disappointed (I bought only the cd version...).

What can I do?

I have the same problem with all my 5 discs!!! What is the solution? Bad discs? I don't have time to search the whole internet (or just this forum) for the solution - and even if a would have the time, i don't want to - after all i paid much (!) money for the games! Can someone help me? I hope, i get new discs of matrix games - discs that work!
