Mantis list

Post by Dancing Bear »

Hi Marshall
there seems to be a relatively long list of bugs growing on Mantis. Although the bugs are mostly minor and not of the game stopper variety, I'm wondering if it time to stop development on new features for a bit and knock down this list somewhat. This might depend on how far you have got into coding 1.09, and what comes out once Matrix gets 1.08 into our hands.

Here is part of the latest mantis issues, that have still to be fixed. In the picture there are 2 in light green colour that have been resolved by Marshall, all the others are still outstanding bugs etc that are still waiting to be addressed.Maybe 1.09 should be put on the back burner, until the problems highlighted in the list are fixed first?

We all like to see new upgrades, but I think bugs and player gaming issues should be addressed first, then the game should be advanced to 1.09,then fixed any problems that appear after that is released, only in this way will the game progress, the bugs must be corrected first and foremost.

Graham.

Hey guys:

I can agree with that BUT I've had my hands full with simul dip and eco for 1.08 and it has taken some time to do. I'll put all on hold and jump into the issues list for 1.09 which will move my road map back a bit.

Thank you

Hi Marshall
It is good that you took the time out to work on 1.08, and I can understand how the Mantis list might creep up while you worked on that version. And it is not like the bugs reported on Mantis are game breakers these days (or where they were, you have already fixed them).
We seem to be through the major problems, and what's left are mostly second tier problems. The game is coming along nicely.

I'd just like to say that I agree with what's happening.

Though I'm all for IP, it should be pushed to the backburner, IMO.
AI needs some work. I'll never use it but it seems there is a good number of people that do.

I also agree with getting simul dip/eco done, this is going to drive some PBEM games to be so much more fun and captivating.

I haven't seen too many game stopping bugs lately in the games I'm in, but yes, they need to be fixed since so many people are reporting weird things.
