Total War Mega Pack on Steam $20

Post by Moster »

You get Empire, Medieval II + expansion and Rome + expansion. I think the sale runs through the weekend.

I have been waiting to get Empire until they patched the major problems. It seems from reviews that maybe they have got it fixed now.

You can also just get Empire by itself for just $10!

Not a all. Just some more free advertising for Steam.

Steam runs in to issues when you attempt to run mods with it on M2TW and RTW so you'd be better off getting those two games from another source. Also, when it comes to Empire make sure you have a computer that can handle it because when I bought it I found out my computer lagged even on small-scale battles.

Same with me... I need to upgrade my laptop, I like laptop strategy games on the laptop.. nice to sit on the couch and relax while strategizing.. [;)] I picked up the units of the east and the Indian Battles packs (even though the price discount wasn't as good as the full game discount)

I picked up Empire. $10, and it sounds like there are some pretty decent AI mods out there for it.

I got Rome + Barbarian Invasion when it was on discount at d2d a while ago. After playing the first battle again, I remembered why I never bought the game: Playing it on my neighbor's puter in 2005 occasionally, I figured that the AI was pretty inactive - if not dumb - when it didn't initiate a battle (basically just sitting there), which killed the fun for me.

Is there any AI mod for Rome?

You are in luck, sir. There are a number of very good mods for R:TW. Here's the Total War Center RTW hosted mods subforum. Plenty to choose from there. [:)]
