R & D to production?

Question:

When a new Japanese plane becomes available, does the R & D factory convert to producing the plane or do you need to setup/convert a production factory?

It happens automatically.  You'll see the "R&D" disappear and the factory will start producing.

Mike, Is this true for both realistic and non-realistic R&D ? ... I wasn't sure [&:]

One other small concern: if I am building Zeroes in Manchuria and the engines in Tokyo are there any issues with the two coming together to complete the plane?

Nope, the engines go into a pool. When the plane is built, it sucks the engine out of the pool, builds the plane, and puts the plane into another pool. Note that pools of stuff can not be bombed.

Damian, now I'm not so sure.  I'm going to try and get an answer to that.  When I find it, I'll post it in here.  At the very worst, my PBEM is about 10 days away from getting the Ki-57-II.  I'll find out in a week or so.
