advance after combat (against artillery)

advance after combat (against artillery)

In a game, I have meleed twice artillery units that were alone in an hex. My infantry units have eliminated the 2 artillery units, but they have not advanced after the combat.
Is it a bug ? Does the engine work as intended ? Should not the infantry move into the hex that was occupied by artillery ?

This is normal. Your infantry haven't enough movement points or good enough moral test, I think.

It's the way it is. You don't get to advance when you destroy artillery. Has always been that way, so it makes me think it's intentional, and it increases the defensive properties of batteries, because it gives you a chance to plug the gap...
