I have done most of my posts in the long lost Art of War forum. I do miss that part of the forum. How many years has that been gone?

7 Years and running, wish I was more active though but time restrains me usually as far as wargaming goes

Same here. Thanks for the great community

Wow, 5 years for me, too. Doesn't time fly?

Let me see if I can find something controversial to post about. Other than Digital River's exchange rates... [:'(]

I just prefer lurking. I use to post a lot more when GENIE was around, and I played Air Warrior. I sure do miss GENIE and the Aladdin interface.

I'm sorry to go a little off topic, but I need to know. What or who is Emo? [&:]

Emo is two things. A form of music that is similiar to alternative,..but with a heavy slant to self pity, and also a 'lifestyle' or 'clique' depending on how you perceive these type things. It is similiar to the 'Goth' types, as far as appearance,....dark hair,....very pale skin (usually make up is used to achieve this), dark makeup around the eyes to give a sunken in look, studded bracelets, collars, etc..........but with a HEAVY slant towards self pity. The self pity aspect is where the 'Emo' tag comes from. They are 'emotional' or feel sorry for themsleves and how misunderstood they are.

Be careful though,......just becasue a kid likes to wear dark clothes, and studded bracelets, collars etc,...doesnt make them Emo......in fact when I was a youth the exact same look would have been called 'metal'.
Thanks Scott. I can rest easier knowing our future is in such good hands![8|][8|]

But back in the day(80's) I bet most of our parents looked at us and our bretheren and said the same thing..... Most of us became "normal"...... We have become our parents...hehehe
My life is complete. 1000 Matrix posts.....

By August, i'd have been a member for 5 years here. Haven't really posted much though I think it's for the better since I was exceedingly immature when I was younger and with hindsight I can see why my account on Run5 got disabled.

oh the good old days of being detested [;)]

Aww...come on Judge, I know you like me![:'(]

Been here a bit over eight years. It's a lot more tame here than it was when I first joined. I'd say that's for the better. Don't post as much as I used to, but do occasionally when something strikes my fancy. This is a great place to keep up on the gaming scene and just generally relax and shoot the bull with a great bunch of characters.

And since we are talking about "anniversaries" it's a good time to reveal my new avatar. More approprately fits my personalitly as I get older. And I do mean older.

WOW. In just 3 months I will have been a member for 11 years. Hard to comprehend that. Matrix is in an elite group of forums I visit compulsively, even though I have rarely posted. It has been a great decade plus.

Nice to have seen you hanging on grimly all these years, Dave.

Oh yeah, General Sherman said it--and meant it. That is my favorite quote from all of history.
