Missing Leader

Post by PzIII »

Hi All

Was just looking thru my leaders on and around Guadalcanal and appear to be missing U.S. Marine Major General Alexander Vandegrift.

Checked the Pool and no sign of him.....was he not a big player in the Solomons?

Cheers

He was 1st Marine Division commander at Guadalcanal.

He is present in the game. He arrives as commander of the 1st Marine Regiment on 19 May 1942 in Eastern USA.
I have been inputting my orders for the campaign game first turn since July 4, 2009. I'm getting close. In another month or two, I might be able to run the turn!

Thanks for reply!!!

How come he doesn't show in Leader list when looking for a better leader for USMC in the Solomons?
I'm on turn 12 and and have Lt Col Paterson, thought try out Vandegrift.

Cheers

As Sardaukar said - Which Scenario? My response was for teh campaign scenario.

If a leader is currently assigned to an LCU/ship/TF/Airgroup, they will not show up in the list of available replacement leaders. In the campaign scenario, if you want to assign Vandegrift to another unit, you must first relieve him from his current unit.

Cannot check now, but I think in Guad scen, Vandegrift is also assigned as 1 Mar Div commander as well. Assigned commanders do not show on list. But I cannot check, at work. [8D]

In the Guadalcanal Scenario 1st USMC Div starts divided. Vandegrift starts the game as commander of 1st USMC/1st Rgt located at Luganville.
