R & D Question

Post by P.Hausser »

Just a fast question, 100p of R&D on a specific AC reduces the release date by how much ?
And a facility who is doing 300 R&D pr month will then effectively reduce the time by how much ? (static, not random)

PS: PDU is On

A R&D factory that would produce x numbers of planes/engines would instead
provide x research points.
If the collected research points reach 100, this advances the AC/engine availability 1 month.

I read on the forum that the size of the R&D facility inluences this value somehow but have not idea in which way.
Something like smaller is better. [&:]

Actually, 100 development points does not automatically move the month of production up by a month:

13.5 AIRCRAFT RESEARCH
Aircraft or Engines with a production capacity that are not yet available will be researched. This
may move up the availability of the new aircraft or engine. Whenever a plane/engine would
have been produced, the new aircraft or engine will gain 1 development point. For every 100
development points the availability of the aircraft or engine may be moved up one month.

it looks anyway to useless to change here anything.

If you want to speed up, lets say late ´43 Fighters you have to change the R&D Factories.
But if you leave them big they need probably as much time to 100% repair (only after this they produce R&D Points) that the Plane will come anyway (or even bevore the Factories go operational).
Or you crush them into small 2/4 Point Factories...than they need much time to speed up anything...

One more Option that looks nice at Paper (hey you can have better Planes much faster^^) but dont work really ig.

If you leave the R&D Factories as they are the Results will be better as it looks atm since they Produce than R&D Points since day 1

Well in fact you can use changing researched AC type to streamline engine production.

That is a red herring ... always has been ...

It's always been a dice roll as far as I recall. Are you saying that has changed?
