Either type 38 or type 99 rifle. Doesn't look like a type 1 Italian made rifle.

Ok not a type 38.

Humm neither the 38 or the 99 I finally found good pictures of have the magazine well under the receiver like this does.

Type I is the closest match I could find (based on the appearance of the bolt action).

The triggerguard and sights are different to the common version though - maybe latewar modifications?
