T59. And on an interesting side note, I've been able to move close to the Don and Stalin's pride on the Wolga

On turn 60 the Soviet winter offensive is gonna start. There are weak spots in my front line and I genuinely hope that Elmer will give me a hard time

Turn 63 - 28 Jan 1941
Heavy pressure everywhere, but the worst hit was the area northwest of Moscow, where the Ruskis capturd Kalinin. I'm transferring some units from the lines southeast of Moscow to set up a new line over here.

The Soviet winter offensive comes to an end.
Here's a comparison of the frontlines between the start and end of Soviet offensive shock.
The only places where I lost some ground was in the center and the isthmus in Finland.
I'm well established along the Don.
Fall Blau can get me on the road to Stalingrad and the Caucasus... I can also try to get to Leningrad...
Suggestions are welcome

On March 4 1942 the Red Army broke trough a thinly held stretch of the front near the town of Kirasov. While the German flanks pulled back, newly arrived Hungarian units would have to go into action immediately as they were the only reserve nits available in that sector

Before the mud arrives I'll try to create some jumping-off points for potential summer offensives.
AG Nord is in the process of clearing an area for a possible assault towards Leningrad

In the south the last turn with frozen rivers enabled me to put some units across the Don, west of Rostov

On March 8 1942, AG Nord steamed ahead, intending to destroy the Soviet forces in the Novgorod-Leningrad-Narva triangle

The AG Nord dudes had a quiet winter and it's paying off... they're in great shape and are advancing well. Look at that nice pocket.
The Soviet Kirasov offensive is being contained... What bothers me however is that small Soviet units may reconstitute behind my lines. There's one spotted between Orel and Tambov, wrecking my rail lines there.

Turn 83 sees mud... time to weigh my options for the upcoming summer
BTW there's still snow.. I'd like to see thaw on turn 81 or 82 , with storms to create real mud before the mud-shock effect... this will bog down things a bit already

So um.....did it reconstitute in one of *your* hexes or a hex that didn't get converted to friendly? Hint, hint.ORIGINAL: Silvanski

That's most likely the case... the Ukraine is a wide open area in that part... I may have some unconverted hexes thereORIGINAL: larryfulkerson

I can't find my weather chart (if I have one) but my quick reference shows storms at the beginning of April, which are surrounded by several warm fronts from Feb to May. Are you having snow and frozen conditions all across the map, north to south ? Reason I ask is because I would think the thaw would start in the south and move slowly north, snow and frozen conditions not disappearing from the far north until May or even June.
RE: Moscow or bust! D21
Oh OK then... I forgot mud also can include slush, thanks Steve... and if you find your weather reference chart could you send me a copy... can come in handy for other scenariosORIGINAL: sPzAbt653

E-mail sent.
It's just a date and effect list, if I come across a comprehensive list of event #'s I'll forward it, but I'm not sure if I've done that for this one.
RE: Moscow or bust! D21
26 Aprl 1942, the mud will subside soon... let's take a look at my on hand eqp
