What first?

Post by dingbat911 »

So... we've been given 3 videos as well as a plethora of information now, I think it's time to put the standard forum question upon the board?

Whats the first thing your gonna do in Distant Worlds?

excluding things like recieving it/downloading it, installing it, reading the manual and playing a tutorial (if there is one of course) [:'(]

I plan to immediatly try and explore everywhere I can and peek at all the technology available so that I might go Big monster huntin'
"who you gonna call..."[:D]

Get a milkshake or cappuccino, then open the options menu and start having fun :D
Honestly, tweaking options and checking game setup settings is some of the most fun i have in strategy games LOL.. I guess its the anticipation or something.
Theeeen, i'll just start a big easy game i guess, maby with 5 easy opponents and 1 hard, just to see how hard the game can become.

Probably play with max number of empires in a huge galaxy on easy level a) to see if my rig can handle the vastness and b) to learn the mechanics. I also tend to be a big "reader" early on in a game, so I figure I'm going to be giving the Encyclopedia a workout...[:D]

I am going to D/L the game, swear a lot because my connection is so slow. Get it installed, fire it up, become totally confused with it, swear some more, vow never to played another PC game ever. Sell the children on Ebay, divorce the wife, kick the dog, swear some more because I don't have a dog and then, finally go back to playing Bejewelled on the ipod. None of you will ever hear from me again and I shall become a legend on the Matrix forums!!!

Just start with the tutorials and that a game on a just below normal difficulty level and try all the various menus and see how the automated options work out compared to the do-it-yourself approach (e.g. I don't really like designing ships every 5 min).

A mix of my idea of "4x experience" [;)]
Full immersion is what i seek in a space "epic" 4x game...
maybe at day 1.5 i will start some mod... and about day 3.2 i will seriusly going to exterminate
(after i had take several kick on my face (from various alien)) every moving (and not) object in space [:D]

[:'(] I love 4x Games

Gigantic galxy with plenty of random stuff and max races. Ofcourse my playable race will be Crazy Cats.
On the other side. Some complain.
No feline race?
No avian race?
Argh!!!
How you cant add them!!
That mean no Alkari and what is more important no Mrrshans.

In MOO2 Alkari actually seemed to have more of reptile origins rather than avian. At least they looked like pterosaurs. I wonder what made them evolve from  MOO1 parrot-like Alkari? :)

You can always mod bear-like species to be simply mammalian (or anything like that) :)
