As far as I know, we don't have an exact release date yet; all we have is a rough idea of late Feb/early March [:(]

FWIW,

We were aiming for the end of February, but that's looking more unlikely. We've got a few last loose ends to still finish up. I'd say right now we're aiming for the first week of March and we're going day by day as far as any additional time required to wrap this up.

I should add that as noted earlier, we will release this when we are certain that it's _finished_ rather than at an arbitrary date and that can make release dates a bit unpredictable. With that said, we do have an internal schedule that we try to stick to and we are extremely close to release with DW, as noted above.

Good book on the pacific war is SHATTERED SWORD, it is mainly on Midway, but has a good overview.

The Total War-Series has produced quite a few high quality strategy games. However, somehow Europa Universalis is more to my liking - I don't like the mixed RTS/TBS-Approach, there doesn't exactly seem to be resource management at all and all armies have a fixed size. The character system however is a big plus for the TW-Series.
