Producing Re.2005 fighters
There seems to be some problem regarding the production of the excellent Re.2005 fighters in the BTR game.
I have had now at least a week (game time) several factories online, totalling 9 capacity points, assembling Re.2005 fighters and yet I see none available in the "Aircraft Replacements" screen. I am using human controlled production and the game version is 1.02 (the test version, not the actual with OOB updates, which would apparently be incompatible my ongoing campaign).
The "Show Requirements" screen displays that I have 75 "Reggiane Parts" in stockpile and 14 required, 19 planned, 12 actual. For "Fiat Engines" the same display indicates that I have 17 required, 21 planned and 12 actual with 5 in stock.
Another user of the Fiat Engines in my production is the Macchi 205 Veltro, which I am producing with one capacity 3 factory and that seems to be working just fine.
So what is wrong with the Reggiane 2005? Why is it not produced at all?

RE: Producing Re.2005 fighters
okay, not sure if you knew JC, but I may end up sounding like JC trying to explain this
the weak link here is the Engine, and then the airframe, none of these planes were easy to build, or to set up for Mass production
soooo
you do not make what you have (IE, if you have 20 109 Frames being built, that does not mean, you are going to get 20 frames every day, and, you got a better chance to get a 109 frame, then a G.55 and lower for a 2005)
soooo
you have a engine that is not a great producer, going into a frame, that is not built too often
then
you have a Prioraty system, the 205 is going to get a engine, before the G.55 will, and the G.55 will get one, before the 2005 will
and you need 2 engines for each one of these planes
I don't know how far in you are, or what you have set up, but from the last run I did, with no changes
I ended up with 24 planes in 10 days, 3 G.55, 7 2005 and 14 205, and at the end, there was only 1 engine in stock (so engines is the Main Weak Link)
(that would mean, 48 Engines were used for production, I seen 4 in stock at start, so, would guess only 45 were built in 10 days)

RE: Producing Re.2005 fighters
Re.2005 needs 1 Reggiane parts and 2 Fiat engines.
Mc.205 needs 1 Macchi parts and 2 Fiat engines.
So your set up looks like this:
9 x Re.2005 = 18 Fiat engines
3 x Mc.205 = 6 Fiat engines
Total 24 Fiat engines.
Points to look at is:
Every plane is assigned a production priority which determines, when there is a shortcoming in either assembly, parts or engines, what get built.
Should a factory get overrun, which is the case of the factories in lower Italy, then they show up in planned.
So in order to fully understand the set up, you would need to show the production, the date and where front line is.
Apart from that there might be more in the game that is not disclosed.

If there is, I haven't found it.
The rest is a good overview.

RE: Producing Re.2005 fighters
you say you have none made yet ?
how long has the game been going on ?
my last test run had them being built (not many, but being built)
this run, look for the 152, I also have messed around with the production of the 2005
I do notice that at the start, I show 5 Fiat Engines in production, but I am only getting 2 of them (factory damage and RR damage around the site)
I cut down the production of the 205 (that will draw most of the engines) and added more 2005 to the build list, along with more Fiat Engines (and the VIIIth, went right ahead and blew one of the factories apart !)
soooo
------------------------ 1st turn, 16th, 39th, 43rd
G.55 ----------------------0--------7----27----33
205 ----------------------7-------22----37----40
2005 ----------------------2--------9----18----19
152H ----------------------0--------0-----0-----0
F E -------------------------------------2-----1
F P -----------------------------------155---168
R P ------------------------------------98---107
152 P ------------------------------------10-----9
213E -------------------------------------5-----3
bunch of silly numbers, but from what I see from them, the planes are getting built, engines are being used and not stockpiled, more parts then Frames/Engines being built (I went back in quick, as most of the delay was ready to start production after turn 39)
(first turn will screw up ave, you have some stockpile, and you get double build rate on the first turn)
but, I see 92 planes built that use the Fiat Engine, and one in stock, so in 43 turns, only 93 engines were built (bomb raid, low production, damaged factory all have an effect here)
(most Allied players, LW defenders, want to leave the MED alone, but there are important targets in the area, this shows off part of it)
(always had trouble with trying to make charts !)
(I Give !!!)

RE: Producing Re.2005 fighters
hate to say it, but I think it is RR related
the Engines are the bottleneck, along with the other planes that use the Engine
if you let the 205 build, the frames are going into the stock pile, and later on, as the Engines become ready for use, all of those 205s are getting them
it took me too long to catch the 205 frame thing, so I had to let them burn off
but after making sure all 205s were not being built, and then killing off all of the G.55 also, I am getting somewhere
but I think this is interesting
on turn 92, I have built
123 G.55
119 205
34 2005
on turn 98
135 G.55
140 205
36 2005
on turn 118
140 G.55
165 205
139 2005
on turn 119
140 G.55
165 205
146 2005
on turn 124
140 G.55
165 205
188 2005
so, Yes, I would say the 2005 is buildable, it has a lot of roadblocks in front of it, that needs to be cleared out, the 205 is going to get first call on any engines, and then the G.55 is going to get 2nd call, the 2005 is waiting in line

turn 150
140 G.55
165 205
459 2005
middle of Jan, no 152's yet, fingers crossed
I think I was around 25-27 152's being reseached a day, so it is still going to pull it forward a good chunk, overall, I still that that may be too much wastage, in the AI vs AI game, the losses have not been too bad, and the LW has been able to keep a decent stockpile of needed aircraft, but the heavy battles are about to begin, that is around 2300 (more if we count in the It's planes) that are not getting made, added to stocks, for the coming major battle ???

RE: Producing Re.2005 fighters
Am I correct in assuming, that the Dar-11 and the SAI 207 can not be build in the game?

RE: Producing Re.2005 fighters
yea, those are both AI planes
(now the Dar, at the time, could of been interesting, if it had been allowed to grow up, when it came out, some thought it was better then the 109 and Spit at the same timeline)
and the 607 was a interesting plane, sort of like the Demon

RE: Producing Re.2005 fighters
Do AI planes have fixed production rates or no production rates at all?
Also when swapping production I was a bit confused at times because in the selction list there are not exactly the same type designations as during the rest of the game (there is Do 335A-6 but there is no such plane in the database) also the planes could be sorted in the selection list (minor thing). Also if you don't know which planes transfer into each other via Rüstsätze you might pick the wrong one from the menu (like three producable versions of the Me410 for all different variants).
On a different note: Is it purposefully that in the diffrent graphic modes different levels of information is displayed? like square mode > plane picture mode > roundel mode ????

depends on how many are needed, most have a limited production run, to have enough to keep the unit that flies it, with planes

the Do 335A-6 is the night fighter verison of the 335 ?
also the planes could be sorted in the selection list (minor thing).
hassle here, it runs based on the data file, and there are reasons why the list is set up as it is, would be nice to have it all in sort order, but code needs it in other order
Also if you don't know which planes transfer into each other via Rüstsätze you might pick the wrong one from the menu (like three producable versions of the Me410 for all different variants).
roger and agree, would be nice, if we could have pic/plane stats on this page, but...
On a different note: Is it purposefully that in the diffrent graphic modes different levels of information is displayed? like square mode > plane picture mode > roundel mode ????
not sure if I follow, but if I do, part of that is, you don't know what it is (when you see the squares) then you pick up some info on the raid, and should know plane type (when the square turns into plane Icons) ????
