How MUCH can the AI manage?

How MUCH can the AI manage?

I was wondering how much you can let the AI manage for you in this game? Is it like Space Empires 5 where I can choose to 100% automate my empire, including tactical battles etc if I so wish? Or is there some form of control that I always need to maintain? For example, do I always need to give manual orders to fleets etc?

The AI can auto manage production, and transporting population around your empire. You need to manage founding of new colonies, and movement of combat ships.

Combat can be auto resolved in one click. If you choose to fight the battle on the tactical screen, you can assign any or all of your battle groups to be ai controlled.
