Replenishment question

Post by vettim89 »

In order for an AE/AKE to replenish larger ships in port, does the auxillary need to be disbanded in port or in a TF colocated at said port? Or can it be either/or?

It does not have to be disbanded , but probably should be docked if possible (for effecientcy sake). [:)]

Doe you have to have supplies loaded on an AKE for it to replenish ships?

Do they get used when replenishing and at what rate?

Yes, you do need supplies .I'm sorry , but I'm not certain about the rate. Perhaps someone else out there has the data?[:)]

Yes, your AKE/AS/AD's need to be 'filled' with supplies, and disbanded in port, for appropriate ships to be re-armed. Note that larger ship weapons require LARGE ake's to re-arm them (for instance - a 500 ton AKE japanese conversion cannot rearm things like 8" guns - there is a table in the manual that gives the requirements). I believe that the largest allied AKE's can re-arm anything, including battleships (I have a vague memory of having Prince of Whales in Canton Island being rearmed by an AKE there). But they can suck up the ake's supplies quickly.

Ammo ships and tenders must have supplies (i.e. ammo) aboard and be of sufficent capacity for the weapon being rearmed. For "Replenish from Port" they must be disbanded into the port. For "Replenish at Sea" they must be at sea (in a TF) in the base hex.
